Why Re-Create the Wheel?

580248_10151241917065071_189109037_n

I have been working with the owners of our commercial space on Ralph David Abernathy and their desire to recreate this corridor (Between Lee Street and Joseph Lowery Blvd) to bring new life/energy in this area.  My first mission is our “Flea Market” on the corner of Evans Street and RDA.

Pulling the idea from a friend and our neighbors in  Castleberry Hills, I have decided to test  the idea of “Pop Up Shops”.  A series of Pop-Up-Shops featuring different artists, merchants and accessories (no,not boot leg Gucci bags) but REAL accessories and unique gifts.

As I work out the details of the idea, and location I am developing a list of potential artists. The space I’m ready to roll this out in, is directly next door to my office in Suite A-2 (about 250-300 sq ft). The actual lease is $900 per month and I will need several artists during the spring/summer to build momentum and also to keep it affordable for each artist.

With this in mind, any ideas?

I’d love to hear any suggestions AND need artist referrals.  I plan to host a round table in February so stay tuned and spread the word.
