What’s HOT in West End? As per Brent Brewer…
Firstly, OWEN is out. This issue demonstrates how vibrant a community West End will be this weekend. There are activities from Friday through Sunday, so please take in as many of the events as possible. Take lots of pictures.
Secondly, we need a host for a musician performing at venues in the neighborhood this weekend.
Many of us have opened our homes to family/friends who were visiting from out of town. These visitors loved our walkable neighborhood where they could stroll to two house museums, AUC center, several vegan restaurants, several banks, and MARTA access. With all that West End/ Westview has to offer, why would anyone stay downtown on a visit to Atlanta?
West End is hosting a very special visitor, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (legendary multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer, music director, producer, DJ, and educator). He will be rehearsing/ performing in the West End at Night Under the Stars Concert and Music in the Park with Kebbi Williams 50-piece band (are you totally excited yet!). Since he will be spending so much time in the neighborhood, he wants to walk to his rehearsal venues (WEPAC, Star Theatre) and performances (Wren’s Nest and Howell Park).
Our neighbor, Kebbi Williams has asked if one of our West End neighbors can host Miguel from Thursday to Sunday. It will be the coolest house guest that you will have in a long time. We’re talking serious facebook picture opportunity.
If interested in hosting Miguel, please email or call Brent Brewer today to make arrangement for Miguel.
For commuting purposes, it is best if he stays in the Historic West End District; however, a Westview host would also be appreciated.
