AWDA Career Coach Tour
On Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 10 a.m., Mayor Kasim Reed, AWDA Executive Director Michael T. Sterling, Dr. Raphael Warnock, Ebenezer Baptist Church Senior Pastor and Deitra Russell, Executive Director of the MLK Sr. Community Resources Collaborative will host the unveiling of AWDA’s new Career Coach.
The Atlanta Workforce Development Agency just purchased an AWDA Career Coach, which is a state-of-the-art mobile career unit to help the Agency access underserved populations in the City of Atlanta. It is ADA accessible and includes 12 new desktop computers, LED lighting, free Wi-Fi and satellite, an additional meeting room, interior and exterior 40” LCD monitors and much more.
The Career Coach, which will be deployed to high unemployment areas where residents also lack access to transportation, will add value to City of Atlanta residents. It will allow residents who did not have access to the City’s workforce services the ability to register for Workforce Investment Act grants, receive training, job placement assistance, attend resume workshops, computer skills and interviewing skills classes, re-entry classes, test for literacy and numeracy – basically anything that they can do at our headquarters, they will be able to do on the new AWDA Career Coach.
The new Career Coach will allow the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency to meet people where they are!
