Westview Atlanta-Community Events!

A message from the VP of the Westview Community Organization:

Greetings neighbors.

It was great to see those of you who were able to attend last night’s meeting of the WestviewCommunity Organization.  If you weren’t able to be there in person, we hope to see you next month or at one of the next 2 events that we’re sponsoring as a community.

One Saturday June 20th, we’re going to work on cleaning up several areas of the community that have been impacted by trash and debris.  We’ll start at the Ontario Parkat 9am.  The park is where East & West Ontario and Stokes Avenues come together.  The WCO will supply trash bags but we ask you to bring your own gloves, shovels, and any other tools you might want.  We will decide on exactly what areas to tackle at the day of the event.  If we have a lot of volunteers, we’ll get more areas cleaned up.  The only things we can’t pick up will be tires and large furniture items.

The following weekend is all about getting out and enjoying a great summer day.  On Saturday, June 27th, we will be hosting our 2nd annual cook-out.  This event is to get the neighbors out to meet one another.  Because they’re also part of the community, we also invite members of the Police and Fire departments.  Since this is a community event, we need everyone who is interested in participating to let us know what they can contribute.  This event will run from 11:30am until 4pm at the Ontario Park.  If there are things that you would like to bring but are not listed, please let us know.

What do we need (aside from your presence)?
  • Cash Donations (checks can be made out to “Westivew Community Organization”
  • Hot Dogs (20 packages)
  • Chips (5+ bags)
  • Hamburgers (5 packages)
  • Bottled Water
  • Cans of soda / coke
  • paper plates
  • napkins
  • folding tables
  • tents
For more information or to sign up to make a contribution, please call Ayana Gabriel (404.753.5110) or me (404.752.6423) no later than Wednesday June 24th.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
