Tour de SWAT Bike Ride
Coming on the heels of a highly successful “Streets Alive” event that was held in Historic West End is now Tour de SWAT Bike Ride. The sponsors for this event are: Councilmember Cleta Winslow, Adair Park Today and EpiCity Realty. Let us rediscover Southwest Atlanta on Saturday, May 3rd at 10 a.m. to promote our history, homes and neighborhoods. This is a self-guided 13 mile bike tour that starts and concludes at Adair Park II (bounded by Murphy Avenue, Gillette Avenue, Lillian Avenue and Tift Street, SW). The tour will go through Adair Park (Est. 1892), Pittsburgh (Est. 1883), Capitol View Manor (Est. 1925), Capitol View (Est. 1925), Oakland City (Est. 1925), Westview (Est. 1897?) and West End (Est. 1835).
We encourage you to register online by Wednesday, April 30th and there will be limited registration on site at 9:30 a.m. and the bike ride starts at 10a.m. The cost is $8 for advance registration and $10 on the day of the event. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult (all children must be accompanied by an adult). Bike rentals will be available for $10 courtesy of the Beltline Bike Shop 978 Murphy Avenue, SW (corner of Brookline and Murphy Avenue, SW), a local non-profit that helps kids learn while earning a bicycle.
Online registry for the tour and bicycle rentals can be found here: https://tourdeswat.eventbrite.
I look forward to seeing you all there!
